On May 10 with the Netherlands Bach Society and Johanna Soller 

On May 10th, my commissioned composition “The Light Behind the Eyes” for the Netherlands Bach Society will be premiered at the Muziekgebouw Amsterdam - followed by six further performances, including in Utrecht and The Hague, under the direction of the new chief conductor Johanna Soller.

This cantata, which explores artificial intelligence and religion, draws a line between Bach, the human search for meaning, and the big questions surrounding human, spiritual, and artificial consciousness. The libretto was developed in dialogue with artificial intelligence, thereby also questioning how creativity comes into being and to whom thoughts truly belong.
