Recycling Concerto Released on Vinyl Made from Ocean Plastik
Recording with the SWR Symphonieorchester and Vivi Vassileva

I am thrilled to announce the release of the Recycling Concerto on vinyl. The 4-LP edition will be released on March 30, 2026, by the label decurio.
This is the world’s first release of a symphony orchestra recording on vinyl made from recycled waste. Reflecting the central idea of the Recycling Concerto, sustainability is also the guiding principle in the production of the records: the vinyl is not only made from recycled ocean plastic, but produced exclusively on demand. Unlike industrially pressed records, these are cut directly into the material. Produced on machines from the Viennese workshop Phonocut, each record is made individually and becomes a handcrafted, unique object – analog, sustainable, and audiophile.

The vinyl is available here.

Daniel Finkernagel will report on the vinyl release on March 30 at 7:05 AM in the show Mosaik on WDR 3. Tune in or listen afterward here.

The audio production, recorded in 2025 with the SWR Symphonieorchester at the SWR Funkstudio Stuttgart, will be broadcast on May 8 in the Abendkonzert on SWR Kultur. In addition, a digital SWR video production of the Recycling Concerto will be released on March 30 by ARD Klassik – both in the ARD Mediathek and on YouTube.
