Award for the recording of my “Recycling Concerto”

From September 5 to 13, this year’s Hidalgo Festival explores a theme that takes on new meaning in a world where speed is mistaken for progress and performance for purpose: the pause. A break in the name of productivity – almost an act of resistance. In music, the pause has a role of its own: not as an absence, but as silence, as a moment that matters. This is where the Hidalgo Festival comes in. I am co-leading the festival artistically with Anne Keckeis. Across five unconventional formats, we explore what can happen when we stop trying to fill the pause and instead step into it – with Bach in bed, a vacuum cleaner on a playground, or the yellow sound in the dark. One of these formats is the promenade concert “Goldbett Variationen”, which will be performed at the Bettenhaus on September 8 and 9. The production was developed in cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
